The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has decided to regulate crypto assets rather than enforce a ban on it, according to reports by Bloomberg.
Finance ministers gathered at the G20 Summit in Bengaluru, India, last week to talk about their views on digital assets.
“We are very much in favor of regulating the world of digital,” IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva said.
However, a ban is not off the table, according to Georgieva. If regulations are unable to protect consumers, the agency will still put a ban in place.
