The London-based payments processing platform, Checkout.com, has joined the Libra Association.

According to a blog post on Tuesday, Guillaume Pousaz, the Checkout.com founder and CEO, said blockchain can potentially provide several benefits to global transaction processing.

Checkout.com is now the first payment processor to join the association after U.S. giants Visa, Mastercard and Stripe all left the stablecoin project last October.
