Bitcoin mining company Hive Blockchain Technologies announced in a press release on Thursday it plans to undergo a name change to reflect its focus on artificial intelligence growth. The company will adopt the new name, Hive Digital Technologies, which "encompasses a broader scope of [the] company’s mission, which ranges from not just blockchain technology, but also Web3 investments and AI," according to the company. The rebrand reflects Hive's use of Nvidia's graphics processing units (GPUs) chips, which the company says is a vital tool in the fields of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and advanced data analysis.
