The American Bankers Association (ABA) recently sent two letters to the House of Representatives, raising objections to the stablecoin bill scheduled for debate this week. In the letters, they stated that in order to ensure effective consumer protection and financial stability, the stablecoin ecosystem must be subject to strong regulation, similar to the banking ecosystem. The association also added that they hope the House apply the same level of regulation to state-licensed stablecoin issuers as is currently applied to state-chartered banks.
