According to reports by the Miami Herald, Ivan Soto-Wright, the co-founder and CEO of the cryptocurrency payments company MoonPay, has been accused of being involved in a mysterious $500,000 donation to a super PAC supporting Miami Mayor Francis Suarez's presidential campaign. The donation allegedly passed through a limited liability company called "PassionForest," prompting concerns about the potential illegal transfer of anonymous funds to bolster Suarez's super PAC. However, a spokesperson for Soto-Wright refuted the accusations, affirming that Soto-Wright is indeed the CEO of PassionForest and denied any wrongdoing. Samuel Brown, a partner at law firm Holland & Knight, asserted that Soto-Wright's personal donation is in compliance with federal campaign finance regulations.
