The Netherlands’ central bank is asking local crypto firms to register by May 18 to avoid being ordered to cease, said Dutch monetary authority on Monday. This directive applies to companies that convert crypto and fiat or offer crypto custody services, but not to crypto-to-crypto businesses, according to CoinDesk.

The new directive is part of the efforts of the Dutch central bank to impose the Dutch anti-money laundering (AML) laws. The Dutch Upper House passed its “amended” Fourth Anti-Money Laundering Directive (AMLD4) laws on April 21 to abide by EU’s AML directives and standards.
