Stablecoin issuer Circle is in discussions with advisers to prepare for a potential initial public offering in 2024, according to reports by Bloomberg. Deliberations are still ongoing and it is uncertain whether Circle will decide to go ahead with the listing. 

Last year, Circle ended a deal to go public via a merger with Concord Acquisition Corp., a blank-check company led by former Barclays Plc CEO Bob Diamond, at a valuation of $9 billion. 

Circle has raised funds from investors including Goldman Sachs Group Inc., General Catalyst Partners, BlackRock Inc., Fidelity Management and Research LLC and Marshall Wace LLP. The company was valued at $7.7 billion in a 2022 funding round, according to data from Axios.
