According to coindesk.com, US prosecutors in New York arrested the "top leader" of the OneCoin project, alleging that it was suspected of cheating "billions of dollars" from investors through pyramid schemes. The US Attorney General (SDNY) in Southern District of New York sued Ruja Ignatova and Konstantin Ignatov for alleged charges including wire fraud, securities fraud and money laundering, alleging that they used fraudulent cryptocurrencies to defraud investors “billions of dollars”. As part of the investigation, Konstantin Ignatov was arrested earlier this week for allegations of wire fraud fraud at Los Angeles International Airport.
