Attorneys for Changpeng Zhao, the founder of Binance, contend that he "poses no flight risk" and should be allowed to return to the United Arab Emirates temporary, as stated in a filing on Thursday. They argue that his voluntary appearance in the U.S. to enter a plea serves as evidence that he is not a flight risk. The filing notes that Judge Brian Tsuchida, the Magistrate Judge overseeing his case, concurs, finding Zhao's initial appearance compelling.

According to previous reports, U.S. prosecutors had sought to restrict Changpeng Zhao from returning to the United Arab Emirates until his sentencing on Feb. 23, 2024.
