Seattle District Court Judge Richard Jones has ordered Binance founder Changpeng Zhao to stay in the United States until his sentencing in February, as there is too much of a flight risk if he is allowed to travel to the United Arab Emirates, according to reports by Cointelegraph.

Judge Jones said that Zhao Changpeng has substantial wealth and assets abroad, and no ties to the United States. Furthermore, his family resides in the UAE, where he holds a favored status. In this instance, the court determined that the defendant failed to present clear and convincing evidence that he would not pose a flight risk upon returning to the UAE.
