The third Bitcoin halving is happening now. After the halving, the reward per block mined on Bitcoin will reduce by 50% from 12.5 BTC to 6.25 BTC.  

Bitcoin Halving occurs once every four years to constrict supply and prevent the inflation of the cryptocurrency, as designed by Satoshi Nakamoto. The total number of Bitcoin will stop increasing once it hits the 21 million blocks milestone.

According to Bitpush Market Data, Bitcoin is trading at $8518, as of the writing. The price of BTC has been bouncing up and down over the past few days. On Friday, BTC almost broke into the $10,000 zone, whereas on Sunday, it dropped to a low of $8375.
