Blockchain.com, a crypto wallet and blockchain data supplier, launched its own crypto exchange platform. The platform named, The PIT, was developed by former executives from the New York Stock Exchange, TD Ameritrade, Google, and Goldman Sachs. The PIT will be available in 200+ countries. Users will be able to connect their bank accounts to their Blockchain.com account and trade crypto within three fiat currencies: the United States Dollar, the euro, and the British pound sterling. CEO of Blockchain.com, Peter Smith, stated that The PIT can operate within microseconds which will allow the platform to compete with major established platforms such as Binance. Head of trading products at Blockchain.com, Nicole Sherrod, stated that “I would not feel comfortable delivering a platform to retail investors that puts them in a position where they couldn’t get in and out of a trade with lightning-fast speed.”
