According to a tweet posted on X by new Binance CEO Richard Teng, the Binance team has successfully frozen $4.2 million worth of XRP, which was part of the 213 million XRP that was stolen from the personal account of Ripple co-founder Chris Larsen.

Binance said it will continue to support the follow-up investigation and work to help recover the funds, including closely monitoring the majority of the remaining funds in the attacker’s external wallet to prevent deposits to Binance.

On January 31, Chris Larsen posted on social media that his personal XRP account (unofficial) had been stolen and law enforcement had intervened in the investigation.
