After months of court proceedings in Montenegro, Terra founder Do Kwon has been granted extradition to the United States.

According to local media Pobjeda, Terra founder Do Kwon will be extradited to the United States. Montenegro's justice minister said the decision was "political" and mentioned expectations for a US extradition treaty, saying: "The United States is our main foreign partner and we want to develop a framework for future cases".

The move comes after South Korean authorities secured extradition rights against Kwon's former chief financial officer Han Chang-Joon. Chang-Joon was extradited on February 5 and it was unclear what proceedings he might face or when authorities would bring him to trial.
