Silvio Schembri, Junior Minister for Financial Services, Digital Economy and Innovation in the Government of Malta, released a statement announcing that Malta’s business registry will begin to use a blockchain service. Schembri stated that with this service, Malta would have the first government agency that is run by a blockchain-bases system and AI (artificial intelligence). The goal of the blockchain-based system is to increase efficiency and decrease unnecessary administrative procedures with the investment in information technology. On this new blockchain system, Malta Business Registry will allow new services that were impossible in the past.
