On March 28, FTX founder Sam Bankman Fried was finally sentenced to nearly 25 years in prison by a judge. He was also ordered to confiscate more than $11 billion in assets. The judge recommended that SBF be imprisoned in a prison near the San Francisco Bay Area near his home.

New York Judge Lewis Kaplan argued that SBF's social "impairment" and "association with great wealth" may have made him a target for "attacks" by inmates.
