The Bank of Korea has decided to apply decentralized technology in the experiment of the central bank backed digital currency (CBDC), according to the central bank’s newly released research report on the status quo of foreign countries’ CBDC development.
The May 18’s report covers 14 countries and regions undertaking such research projects, and found the followings are experimenting the CBDC with decentralized technology: Singapore, Canada, Japan, Thailand, Hong Kong, Switzerland, East Caribbean, Europe, and so forth.
