At around 8:09 pm New York time, Bitcoin completed its fourth halving at block height 840,000. The mining reward of the Bitcoin network was halved from 6.25 BTC to 3.125 BTC.

Block halving refers to the process of reducing the amount of digital currency generated per unit of time, mainly by reducing block rewards. 

The Bitcoin network has experienced three halvings in 2012, 2016, and 2020.

Bitpush Terminal data shows that at the time of writing, Bitcoin was trading at $63,403.43, a 24-hour increase of just over 1%.
