At a budget hearing on Thursday, U.S. SEC Chairman Gary Gensler told senators that the Ethereum spot ETF S-1 is expected to be approved sometime this summer. 

Whether it will be July or September remains unknown.

When Gensler was directly asked whether ETH is a commodity, Gensler did not answer yes or no, sticking to the agency's uncertain stance on the asset.
