In an interview with Bloomberg today, SEC Chairman Gary Gensler said there is no inconsistency between crypto securities and existing securities laws. He noted that the rules governing securities are clear and protect investors. Nevertheless, he believes that a large number of entities in the cryptocurrency space do not comply with these laws, and such violations are a key issue the SEC aims to address through its regulatory oversight.

Speaking of Ethereum ETF, Gensler said the approval process is going "smoothly", but refused to comment on the specific timetable for launching a spot Ethereum ETF.
