According to Bloomberg, people familiar with the transition work revealed that the Trump team is discussing with the digital asset industry whether to set up a new White House position specifically responsible for cryptocurrency policy, and Trump's team is reviewing candidates for this position. If established, this will be the first position in the White House specifically responsible for crypto.

Discussions about the position include leading a small team and serving as a liaison between Congress, the White House and various agencies with jurisdiction over cryptocurrencies, including the Securities and Exchange Commission and the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).

According to people familiar with the matter, former Coinbase and Binance US executive Brian Brooks met with Trump on Tuesday. He is also a potential candidate for the chairman of the SEC. Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong also spoke with Trump this week.
