According to Reuters, US President Donald Trump signed an order on Thursday to establish a cryptocurrency task force to fulfill his campaign promise after becoming the "cryptocurrency president."

It is reported that the task force is tasked with developing a federal regulatory framework for managing digital assets (including stablecoins) and evaluating the creation of strategic national digital asset reserves.

In addition, the executive order prohibits agencies from taking any action to establish, issue or promote central bank digital currencies (CBDCs).
