Publicly traded companies are acquiring Bitcoin at a staggering pace in 2025, buying more than three times the amount of new cryptocurrency being generated, according to data compiled by asset management firm Bitwise.

So far this year, listed corporations have collectively added 205,507 bitcoins to their treasuries. During the same period, only 64,556 new bitcoins entered circulation through mining. This means for every one bitcoin created, these public companies are buying three.

It's important to note that these figures only account for purchases publicly reported by listed companies. The actual demand from the broader corporate world, including privately held businesses, is likely even higher.
