Elon Musk's artificial intelligence company xAI is facing legal action for using gas turbines at its 'The Colossus' data center in Memphis. The Southern Environmental Law Center (SELC), representing the NAACP, has sent a 60-day notice of intent to sue xAI, accusing them of violating the Clean Air Act. SELC pointed out that xAI has installed and operated at least 35 gas turbines in the past year without obtaining necessary construction or operational air permits. These equipment may emit over 2000 tons of nitrogen oxides (NOx) annually, severely impacting local air quality.
