In a recent announcement, Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba stated on Wednesday that he plans to use tax revenue, non-tax revenue, and surplus funds from unused budgets to provide funding for cash handouts aimed at helping families cope with rising prices. Prior to the crucial Upper House elections on July 20, Ishiba mentioned in a public debate with opposition leaders, 'We expect additional tax revenue to reach 15 trillion to 20 trillion yen, and non-tax revenue to be close to 10 trillion yen.' On Wednesday, the Japanese Ministry of Finance reported that due to strong corporate profits and rising inflation, tax revenue for the previous fiscal year ending in March reached a historical high for the fifth consecutive year.
