According to reports, iM Bank has filed trademark applications for 12 trademarks related to the Korean Won stablecoin, including 'iMKRW,' 'iMST,' 'KRWiM,' etc., reflecting its strategic positioning around the combination of KRW and the bank's new name iM. Previously, iM Bank has joined the Open Blockchain and DID Association (OBDIA) and participated in the stablecoin subcommittee. The bank stated that it plans to preemptively position itself in the institutionalization of the Korean Won stablecoin through trademark preemption and internalization of technology, as part of its digital financial services development strategy.
