According to X user @chaoge_btc, founder of the AEX trading platform, Huang Tianwei, was released on bail by his family in Thailand on July 3 at 19:00. Only three original platform investors have managed to retrieve some of their assets since the platform's collapse. The platform, in operation for over a decade since 2013, mainly catered to veteran users in the crypto community, with substantial user funds at stake. As of now, Huang Tianwei's actions have left users unable to withdraw their funds. On June 12, AEX founder Huang Tianwei was arrested in the Mae Sai district of Chiang Rai, Thailand. Earlier on July 14, 2022, the AEX cryptocurrency exchange collapsed, halting withdrawals due to short-term liquidity issues. On July 17, 2022, AEX officially announced the suspension of platform services at 15:32 (UTC+8) to cooperate with the police investigation. Further updates will be provided in due course.
