Former Ethereum core developer Eric Conner recently listed three major catalysts for Ethereum's surge: Stablecoins continuously injecting USD into Ethereum, with 21 consecutive months of growth and monthly transfer volume now rivaling Visa. Stablecoins act as an on-chain cash engine, driving sustained demand for ETH block space. On the other hand, spot ETH ETF saw net inflows of $1.17 billion in June alone. Fund managers predict ETH ETF size will multiply several times by the second half of 2025. Lastly, CEX balance is at a new low of only 9 million ETH, the lowest level since 2015. Conner noted that Ethereum has been hovering between $2400 and $2600 for weeks, with decreasing volume and quiet highs and lows. Prolonged consolidation typically leads to sharp fluctuations. Therefore, if ETH firmly breaks above $2600, the trend may quickly and dramatically shift.
