According to reports, strategists at Bank of America have stated that as the trade war raises questions about the so-called 'American exceptionalism', the proportion of global stock market funds flowing into the US has sharply declined by 2025. The Bank of America team cited data from EPFR Global in a report, indicating that US stock funds have only attracted less than half of global fund inflows so far this year, compared to 72% in 2024. In the past three months, foreign fund inflows have slowed to less than $2 billion, compared to $34 billion in January. Trump's unstable trade policies, expanding fiscal deficits, and a continuously depreciating dollar have dampened investors' enthusiasm for US assets. Some asset management companies have warned that due to the political risks brought by the Trump administration, the US is no longer a safe investment destination for foreign investors.
