According to sources, EU envoys are set to hold a meeting this week to devise a plan to counter a potential 'no-deal' scenario with US President Trump. Trump's tariff negotiation stance has reportedly toughened ahead of the August 1 deadline. While most prefer negotiations with Washington to continue in hopes of reaching a resolution before next month's deadline, efforts have not made significant progress since talks in Washington last week. Negotiations will continue in the next two weeks. Sources, who requested anonymity, revealed that the US now appears to be considering imposing tariffs higher than 10% on EU goods, with exemptions narrowing down to aviation, certain medical devices and generics, some alcoholic beverages, and a specific category of manufacturing equipment needed by the US.
