According to Jinshi's report, the US Dollar Index DXY showed a weak performance during the Asian session on Monday, mainly dragged down by US tariff policies and concerns over the independence of the Federal Reserve. US Commerce Secretary Lutnick explicitly stated on Sunday to CBS News that August 1 is the hard deadline for the new tariffs to take effect. The Wall Street Journal reported on the same day that US Treasury Secretary Besent has recently presented the pros and cons to President Trump, urging him not to dismiss Federal Reserve Chairman Powell. Trump has criticized Powell several times for being too cautious on interest rate cuts. FP Markets analyst Aaron Hill pointed out that dismissing Powell would shake the independence of the Federal Reserve, causing significant impact on the US dollar and US bonds.
