In a recent announcement, Coinbase officially stated that starting July 21, 2025, US users can trade CFTC-regulated perpetual futures on the Coinbase Financial Markets (CFM), the largest derivative type in global trading volume.

Coinbase mentioned that for years, US cryptocurrency traders could only watch as their international counterparts used one of the most popular tools in the digital asset market - perpetual futures.
