According to Etherscan data, the Ethereum L1 Gas limit has been raised to 45 million at block height 22968004, with nearly 50% of validators (representing nearly 500,000 staked ETH) supporting the increase in gas limit. This has significantly increased Ethereum's transaction throughput and scalability. The Ethereum L1 Gas limit was previously set at 36 million in February 2025. Yesterday, Ethereum founder Vitalik tweeted that almost exactly 50% of stakers voted to raise the L1 Gas limit to 45 million. The Gas limit has already started to increase and is now at 37.3 million.
