According to reports, South Korea's KB Kookmin Bank has applied for trademarks related to the US dollar and Japanese yen stablecoins with the South Korean Intellectual Property Office, totaling 27, including 'USDKB' and 'JPYKB'. The trademarks applied for this time are divided into two product categories: Class 9 (electronic financial transaction platform software for stablecoin trading) and Class 36 (stablecoin financial transaction business, stablecoin electronic transfer business), totaling 49 trademark applications. Previously, KB Kookmin Bank also applied for 17 trademarks related to the Korean won stablecoin. This trademark application allows KB Kookmin Bank to be the first to obtain trademark rights for USD and JPY stablecoins after the Korean won.
