SBI Holdings, a Japanese financial services company, has clarified that it has not submitted any application for a cryptocurrency-related ETF. The plans are still in the preliminary stages and the application will be made after legal revisions by Japanese financial regulatory authorities. Earlier on August 6th, it was reported that SBI Holdings had submitted applications for two cryptocurrency-related exchange-traded funds (ETFs). The first fund is a cryptocurrency ETF that will directly invest in XRP and Bitcoin, while the second fund is a digital gold ETF that will combine gold-backed securities and digital currencies, with over 50% of the funds allocated to gold ETFs.
