Solana's new consensus protocol Alpenglow proposal SIMD-0326 has entered the community governance phase. Alpenglow aims to reduce block finalization time from 12.8s to nearly 150ms. The proposal will enter the voting phase in Epochs 840-420 (currently at 834, with each Epoch lasting about 2 days). The voting rule requires a 2/3 majority of total votes (in favor + against) for approval.
