According to BitPush, blockchain detective ZachXBT revealed on his personal channel that on August 19, 2025, a victim fell victim to a social engineering attack, losing 783 bitcoins (approximately $91.4 million) after being impersonated by customer service on a trading platform and hardware wallet.

The stolen funds began to be gradually dispersed and transferred, with the attacker making multiple deposits to Wasabi. Coincidentally, this theft occurred on the one-year anniversary of the Genesis creditor's $243 million theft case.
