According to reports from Yonhap News Agency, the number of crypto millionaires in South Korea holding more than 1 billion KRW has reached approximately 18,000, with an average holding of 2.228 billion KRW. This group's average holdings are over 200 times higher than the average holdings of over 18.66 million users on the top 5 exchanges in South Korea (10.27 million KRW).

Breaking down by age group, the majority of those holding over 1 billion KRW in cryptocurrency are in their 50s (3,994 people), followed by those in their 40s (3,086 people), those aged 60 and above (2,426 people), and those in their 30s (1,167 people), with 137 young whales in their 20s. Approximately 76% of these whales (8,242 people) are users of Upbit, significantly surpassing Upbit's 52% share among the top 5 exchanges.
