According to CME FedWatch data, the probability of a 25 basis point rate cut by the Fed in September is currently at 87.2% before the announcement of initial jobless claims, with a probability of maintaining rates at 12.8%.

The probability of the Fed maintaining rates until October is 6.2%, with a cumulative probability of a 25 basis point rate cut at 49% and a cumulative probability of a 50 basis point rate cut at 44.7%.

The next two FOMC meeting dates for the Fed are September 17 and October 29.
