The Libra cryptocurrency will purportedly enable Facebook to earn more money from ads, according to a report from Cnet.
During the social network’s annual shareholder meeting, CEO Mark Zuckerberg reportedly said that by Introducing a new cryptocurrency commerce will become more effective for businesses and in turn result in higher ad prices, thereby increasing ad revenue for Facebook.
Facebook earned about $69.6 billion from selling ads, which made up more than 98% of their total income in 2019.
