According to The Block, Akash Network founder Greg Osuri announced that the project will abandon its self-developed Cosmos SDK chain and migrate to a new network that can 'safeguard Akash' while aiming to remain IBC compatible. The team has not disclosed a timetable, but will publicly assess chain candidates, emphasizing strong security, high-quality community, deep liquidity, and growth potential, while maintaining integration with Osmosis, Keplr, and others. Osuri stated that the staking mechanism will 'evolve for the better' and will not be limited to consensus security, with an RFP set to be released in the coming weeks; Solana is referred to as a 'strong candidate' by him. Akash will introduce Nvidia GPU in Mainnet 6 in 2023, providing decentralized computing power and lower costs.
