According to The Block, Ethereum Foundation researchers have officially confirmed the date for the mainnet hard fork of the next major upgrade, Fusaka, two days after deploying the final testnet. During Thursday's all-core developers call, Ethereum Foundation researchers announced that Fusaka will go live on December 3rd. The backward-compatible Fusaka hard fork will implement around a dozen Ethereum Improvement Proposals aimed at enhancing the sustainability, security, and scalability of the base chain and peripheral layer 2 ecosystem. Notably, Fusaka will introduce PeerDAS technology to provide validators with a more efficient data access method. Originally planned for Ethereum's last major upgrade, Pectra, in February of this year, PeerDAS was delayed due to testing requirements. In addition, Fusaka will increase Ethereum's block gas limit from 30 million units to 150 million units and is expected to quickly double blob capacity.
