According to data from The Block, the total trading volume peak of centralized exchanges (CEX) in the current crypto bull market occurred in December 2024, reaching $2.9 trillion, corresponding to a peak Bitcoin price of $108,353, setting a new record high. However, compared to the previous bull market, overall trading activity is still slightly lower. In the previous crypto cycle, the total trading volume peak of CEX occurred in April 2021, reaching a high of $4.16 trillion, with Bitcoin reaching a peak price of $64,854; in November of the same year, CEX total trading volume reached a second peak of $2.54 trillion, with Bitcoin hitting a high of $69,000 in that cycle. Current data shows that as of this month, global CEX total trading volume is reported at $2.05 trillion. This indicates that despite the new high in Bitcoin price in this bull market, overall CEX trading volume has not reached the levels of heat seen in 2021.
