Solana Foundation Chair Lily Liu took to social media to call for a return to the cypherpunk spirit in the crypto world. Liu stated that we are currently in the era of 'corporate chains,' where companies with massive balance sheets and established distribution channels can package single sequencers in fancy marketing clothes, while promoting 'decentralization is irrelevant' with rigid narratives, claiming that these centralized efforts 'are helping Layer1 development,' despite everyone knowing this is just illogical propaganda. At the same time, the truly crypto-native application chain infrastructure is being crushed by corporate giants. Even in revenue difficulties, these projects are starting to delude themselves, thinking that the only way out is to transform themselves into 'corporate chains.' This is definitely not the vision I had when I first read the 'peer-to-peer electronic cash system' whitepaper, and I am sure this is also the common voice of the vast majority of crypto practitioners.
