According to the Financial Times, bond investors have expressed concerns to the US Treasury Department about Kevin Hassett potentially being appointed as the Federal Reserve Chair, fearing he may cut interest rates significantly to please Trump.

Several sources revealed that the US Treasury Department held one-on-one discussions with top executives from Wall Street major banks, asset management giants, and other large participants in the US debt market to gather feedback on Hassett and other candidates. These discussions took place in November last year, following which Treasury Secretary Benson conducted final interviews with the candidates.
