Contrary to expectations, the predicted rise of Bitcoin in 2025 did not materialize. By the end of 2025, Bitcoin's trading price was around $88,000, experiencing a 6% decline throughout the year. Major institutions' forecast performances are as follows: BlackRock CEO Larry Fink previously stated in January that if large investors allocated Bitcoin, its price could reach $700,000. Bernstein had predicted Bitcoin to reach $200,000 by the end of 2025 or early 2026. Standard Chartered had set a year-end target of $200,000, but after Bitcoin peaked at $126,000 in October and then fell, the bank revised its target down to $100,000. Bitwise had repeatedly predicted Bitcoin to surpass $200,000 in 2025. Fundstrat co-founder Tom Lee had initially predicted Bitcoin to reach $200,000 to $250,000 this year, but recently revised it to above $100,000 by the end of December. ARK Investment Management CEO Cathie Wood lowered her bullish Bitcoin forecast for 2030 from $1.5 million to $1.2 million (WSJ).
