BNB Chain has released its 2026 technical roadmap, continuing to use a dual-client strategy: a Geth-based client for validator compatibility and operational reliability, and an Reth-based client for high-performance engine for full nodes, archival nodes, and future validators. Goals for 2026 include achieving sub-second finality with 20,000 TPS, further reducing gas fees through software optimization, and advancing consensus and network latency improvements for deeper sub-second finality. BNB Chain aims to become the next-generation trading chain from 2026 to 2028 to support extreme performance demands, with targets of approximately 1 million TPS, near-instant transaction confirmation around 150ms, and a hybrid on-chain and off-chain computing architecture using execution proof and proof-of-stake. The project also aims to enhance decentralization through improved validator models and fault tolerance, while achieving top-notch security and production reliability.
