Binance customer service representative sisi revealed a new scam targeting Binance and its users on X platform, warning users to be vigilant and prioritize fund security. Users complained to the platform that they were deceived by a 'Binance executive' who promised to help but disappeared after receiving payment. Binance's investigation revealed several anomalies: the 'executive' did not verify any key information in the chat, users transferred funds directly; the scam address provided by the user was likely controlled by the user; the user could not provide complete chat records, claiming the other party was in privacy mode and only showing post-questioning screenshots; the questioning was directed at a real Binance executive account, but the executive was unaware of the communication. Further investigation revealed a self-directed forgery. The user fabricated chat records and transfer vouchers (from a guarantee platform), falsely claimed the original chat records were deleted, deliberately conversed with the real executive account to create two sets of 'executive' screenshots, submitting one set to customer service in an attempt to elicit an improper response and use public opinion pressure as a threat. sisi stated that disclosing this case aims to alert users to evolving scam tactics. Binance emphasized that the platform does not contact users through unofficial channels, nor request users to transfer funds or pay fees to specified addresses. Binance will firmly expose and legally pursue those who blame the platform, confuse the public through forgery, deception, and other means.
