According to sources, Mitsubishi UFJ analyst Lee Hardman stated in a report that the US dollar is expected to have its worst annual performance since 2017 and face further weakness next year. The dollar is forecasted to drop by 9.3% this year. Hardman noted that the dollar's declines in 2018 and 2017 coincided with the early stages of President Trump's term. While the dollar regained some ground in 2018 with a 4.4% increase, a similar recovery is unlikely in the coming year. He believes that 'as the Fed further cuts rates and other G10 central banks have ended easing cycles, the spread between US and other major economy bonds will continue to narrow.'
