Tether Now Available On Ethereum Sidechain OMG Network

Bitfinex’s Tether (USDT) stablecoin has integrated with the newly launched plasma-based Ethereum sidechain, OMG Network, formerly known as OmiseGo.

According to an announcement on Monday, this is the first time that Tether has integrated with an Ethereum sidechain to increase performance. Tether is the biggest “gas guzzler” on the Ethereum network at 8,900 ETH (around $1.84 million) in fees spent last month, according to ETH Gas Station.
